Estrella Hernandez, a 13-year old entrepreneur, is making headlines this week with an iPhone app she's developed called WeWalk. WeWalk is an app that encourages kids to be active, essentially gamifying their daily activities. Estrella brought her idea to GirlStartup over the summer and worked with VentureLab during the week-long entrepreneurship program to advance her concept. Since then, she has gained mentors through Geekdom and $200,000 in funding from HEB and the 80/20 Foundation to build her app. She hopes to launch the app for free this Spring.
