If you’ve been to our space this summer, you may have noticed a whole new look to VentureLab! Our students are the most important part of our camps, and to give them to nudge they need we decided to share a little bit of our inspiration with them. Not only do our innovators get to spend the whole day in our hands-on entrepreneurship education camps, every time they look at the walls and see our favorite quotes, they get a taste of why we do what we do. We like to inspire and we hope you can see why!
In our Little Innovators room we have a Dr. Seuss quote that reads: “You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself any direction you choose.” For our youngest students, it is our goal to help them break out of their shells and embrace collaboration, creativity, and curiosity. For budding entrepreneurs it is important to keep an open mind and to learn through experiential entrepreneurship activities.
The Junior Innovator classroom holds a Shel Silverstein quote: “Anything is possible; anything can be.” With this age group, we want them to know that the sky is the limit for their ideas. As they start to understand more in-depth aspects of entrepreneurship, such as problem-focused brainstorming, basic customer validation and problem identification, we want to encourage our students to continue to think outside the box. Shel Silverstein inspires us to believe in ourselves, and we want our campers to do the same!
Our Senior Innovators see a Steve Jobs quote everyday: “Have the courage to to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” Unfortunately, as students grow up, they can start to lose their childhood wonder and inventiveness. In our programs, students are given ample opportunity to tap into that part of their mind and create whatever they can dream up. From camps such as Girl and Youth startup all the way to Gamer, our campers are self driven, learn to think critically, and are in charge of their own entrepreneurial ventures. By giving our students a platform to follow their intuition, we supply them with the perfect starting point for the rest of their entrepreneurial lives!
